University advice

UNIVERSITY THE PLACE WHERE EVERYONE WANTS TO BE SUCCESSFUL WITH THEIR DEGREE AS WELL AS GET A JOB STRAIGHT AFTER COMPLETING THEIR DEGREE, OR TO HAVE A SOCIAL LIFE WITH FREEDOM FROM THEIR PARENTS.  I'M PRETTY SURE YOU GUYS GET THE WHAT I'M ON ABOUT.
AS I'M APPLYING FOR UNIVERSITIES THIS YEAR I THOUGH IT WAS ONLY FAIR IF I GAVE SOME ADVICE FOR PEOPLE YOUNGER THAN ME OR IS IN THE SAME POSITION AS ME ON APPLYING TO UNIVERSITY.

THE THING I WANT TO TALK ABOUT UNIVERSITY IS THAT IT’S OKAY IF YOU DON’T WANT TO GO, IT’S COMPLETELY FINE AND IT DOESN'T MAKE YOU LESS SMART THAN OTHERS THAT DO GO, YOU HAVE TO DO YOU, IF YOUR HEART IS TELLING YOU ARE NOT SURE OR YOU’RE NOT READY FOR UNIVERSITY LISTEN TO THAT, BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY YOUR HEART KNOWS YOU MORE THAN YOURSELF.

IF YOUR PARENTS ARE UN-SUPPORTIVE WITH YOUR DECISION ON NOT GOING TO UNIVERSITY OR BECAUSE YOU’RE TAKING A GAP YEAR, WELL TO BE HONEST YOU JUST NEED TO ACCEPT THE FACT YOU HAVE TO CARE ABOUT YOUR HAPPINESS AT THE END OF THE DAY SINCE, YOU’LL BE THE PERSON THAT’S GOING TO UNIVERSITY AND DOING A DEGREE, NOT YOUR PARENTS, SO IF IT COMES TO THAT YOU JUST HAVE TO BLOCK THEM OUT OF THIS DECISION YOU HAVE MADE FOR YOURSELF. AND THERE’S MANY THINGS YOU CAN DO WHEN YOU ARE ON A GAP YEAR SUCH AS WORKING FULL TIME SO YOU CAN SAVE UP MONEY FOR UNIVERSITY IN THE FUTURE IF YOU CHOOSE TO GO; OR GO TRAVELLING TO EXPERIENCE NEW CULTURES BEFORE YOU SETTLE DOWN, OR EVEN DO AN APPRENTICESHIP WHICH WILL ONLY MAKE YOU MORE EMPLOYABLE OR OPEN UP MORE DOORS FOR YOU FOR YOUR FUTURE AND LASTLY YOU CAN DO WORK EXPERIENCE FOR YOUR CHOSEN CAREER IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT IT; BEFORE MAKING ANY FIRM DECISIONS ON TAKING IT UP AS A CAREER.

IF YOU ARE JUST NOT SURE ABOUT GOING TO UNIVERSITY, THEN I SUGGEST YOU TO GO ON UNIVERSITY OPEN DAYS FOR YOUR CHOSEN UNIVERSITIES AND COURSE, THEREFORE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE WHETHER THE COURSE YOU WANT TO DO IS ACTUALLY A COURSE YOU'LL BE INTERESTED ON TAKING ON AT AN UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE LEVEL. UNI OPEN DAYS WILL ALSO ALLOW YOU TO ASK DIRECT QUESTIONS TO CURRENT STUDENTS AT THE UNI AS WELL AS THE PROFESSORS FOR YOUR COURSE, WHICH COULD GIVE YOU ANSWERS TO YOUR CONCERNS ABOUT YOUR COURSE OR JUST UNIVERSITY IN GENERAL.

OPEN DAYS ALSO ENABLES YOU TO HAVE A FEEL OF THE UNIVERSITY ENVIRONMENT, WHETHER YOU LIKE THE UNIVERSITY OR NOT.THIS REALLY HELPED ME AND COUPLE OF MY FRIENDS, SINCE THERE WAS MANY OF US THAT HAD UNIVERSITIES THAT WE LIKED WHEN DID RESEARCH ONLINE, BUT WHEN WE WENT AND SAW THESE UNIVERSITIES WE JUST Didn't FEEL AT 'HOME' OR WE JUST DIDN'T LIKE THE UNIVERSITY ENVIRONMENT, WHICH MADE ME SURE NOT APPLY AT THAT SPECIFIC UNIVERSITY AND MORE CAUTIOUS ON WHERE I WHERE I APPLY, BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY YOU ARE THE ONE THAT’LL BE PAYING FOR TUTIONS FEES FOR 3-4 YEARS SO YOU'LL DEFINITELY NEED A UNIVERSITY YOU LOVE TO BE IN. MAKE SURE YOU AS WELL AS DO RESEARCH ONLINE ABOUT YOUR COURSE AND UNIVERSITIES TO MAKE A GOOD DECISION ON IF THAT’S THE COURSE YOU WANT TO GO INTO.

THE ADVICE I CAN GIVE TO THE PEOPLE THAT DO WANT TO GO UNIVERSITY IS, DON'T GIVE UP, KEEP ON WORKING HARD, EVEN IF YOU DID PRETTY ALRIGHT IN YOUR AS-LEVELS DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN BE LAZY NOW, IT JUST GIVES YOU ANOTHER CHANCE TO WORK EVEN HARDER THAN YOU DID LAST YEAR, AND I KNOW YOU ARE PROBABLY TIRED WITH EDUCATION BUT TRUST ME IT’LL BE WORTH IT WHEN YOU GET INTO THE UNIVERSITY YOU WANT TO GET IN AS WELL AS YOU WON’T EVER HAVE TO DO SIXTH FORM OR COLLEGE AGAIN IN YOUR LIFE SO BE HAPPY!
AS WELL AS MAKE SURE YOU NEVER THINK YOU SHOULDN’T APPLY TO A CERTAIN UNIVERSITY SIMPLY BECAUSE IT’S TOO ‘GOOD FOR YOU’ I’M DEFINITELY A HYPOCRITE AT THIS TO BE HONEST, BECAUSE I WAS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT WAS TO AFRAID TO APPLY TO ANY PRESTIGIOUS UNIVERSITIES BECAUSE I HAD THE FEAR OF GETTING REJECTED, UNTIL ONE OF MY FRIENDS TOLD ME I WOULD BE AN IDIOT IF I DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO APPLY, BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY I WON'T GO IN MY LIFE AND LOOK BACK AND SAY 'WHAT IF?' IF I DID APPLY AND I ACTUALLY GOT IN? SO I DECIDED I'M GOING TO TAKE RISK AND APPLY AND IF I GET IN, I CELEBRATE AND IF NOT WELL THAN JUST SAY TO YOURSELF 'IF IT WAS MEANT TO BE IT WOULD'VE BEEN', JUST LIVE BY THAT SAYING GUYS.
IF YOU GUYS ARE WONDERING IF YOU WILL HAVE A SOCIAL LIFE AT THIS POINT OF LIFE I'M GOING TO BE HONEST WITH YOU, AND THE TRUTH IS YOU WON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT A SOCIAL LIFE IS BECAUSE YOU'LL BE TO BUSY WITH SORTING STUFF OUT FOR UNIVERSITY, SUCH AS REVISION, DEAD LINES AND APPLICATIONS, YOU WON'T HAVE ANY TIME TO THINK ABOUT A SOCIAL LIFE.
AND DON'T FORGET YOUR BEST FRIEND THIS YEAR, THE BISH CALLED UCAS SHE YOUR MAIN BAE FOR THIS YEAR.
ANYWAYS GUYS I HOPE MY ADVICE HELPED YOU GUYS, AND IF YOU GUYS HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME ON:

The girl that cried in her sleep.

Three years of love that almost killed her, no one to turn to but her abuser, the man with a hood and a cap made her feel so miserable, undying love she thought, but it ended up her being colder than ever.

He never cared about her, all he was good at was lying to her face and making her believe there was some sort of future for them, but don’t you worry girl wipe those tears away from you scarred face, since what goes around comes back around.

She would say ‘he’s changed’ when will you ever learn my dear girl? Once an abuser always an abuser, he’s gotten what he wanted and now he’s left you in tiny little pieces of madness.
My girl, don’t go to bed crying, there’s a light at the end of your sadness.

seeking the sea- poem by Rachel Robin

The sea’s always out to play, with Sun beaming on each wave, oh how I wish I could stay,  oh how I wish it could engulf me away,

The seas so deep as well as light, your feet ever so small an tight as the shore sweeps your toes, oh how I wish I could stay, oh how I wish it could engulf me away.

Did he ever love me? - A short poem by Rachel Robin

He never knew how much she cried, the sadness in her eyes, where drugs was her friend and pain was her name, oh how could it have gone ever so wrong?
did the fool ever love me? did he get what he wanted by taking my heart leaving me empty handed.

did the fool ever love me?

did the fool ever love me?

13) THE MIDDLE - a family sitcom, that i can't stop watching because it makes me happy watching it, and makes me laugh on the days I feel like crap.

14) MODERN FAMILY- a family sitcom that portrays a modern family, and daily life challenges in a funny way, i love it because it makes laugh.

15) asian provocateur- this tv show/ documentary series, i don't know what to genre it but it's freaking gold, i laugh my head off watching this, it's just amazingly good, and it just literally makes you sit on your couch and cry with laughter. (the tv show is only available in the uk bbc three)

Here's to our future.

Quote of the day: "sometimes you win , sometimes you learn"
I don’t really know where I’ll be in 5 years’ time, and that’s me being brutally honest, we spend half of our lives in education, and trying to make something out of ourselves, and hoping we’ll be happy and successful one day.

What I’m trying to say is that I’ve finally hit the point in my life where young people have to decide what career path they want to go into, and my first thought was, "someone please make me 5 again", since i had no idea what i wanted to do with my life, as in who was i? and what did i want to do?

i literally had no answer, apart from my school telling us to start personal statements, (which is like a short essay describing why you would be a suitable candidate for your chosen course at university), this is the point where i went from being an aspiring journalist to a nurse, then to a therapist then lastly decided social work was the degree for me.
if you didn't know my dream was to become a journalist, and i was even given an intern-ship with the times newspaper, but after doing a lot of research and a one to one conversation with my parents, i've realised how difficult it is to get a job in this field of work. this sudden realisation made me depressed with my life, and made me despise writing, and looked at my life negatively.
which led me to look for a new course that i could do in university, and i ended up finding a degree that i believe that relates into my personal qualities of making a difference on someone's life.

i haven't given up on my dream of becoming a journalist, I've just simply decided it's better to do something you love as a hobby rather than a job.
i will keep on writing and getting myself out there, but i will also stay wise on making decisions when it comes to life, what i'm trying is that for many years i went on planning with my life and knowing exactly what i wanted to do, to not knowing at all.
that's the thing about our lives as in you never know what life  has planned for you, no matter how much you want to make plans for your future, our life has a different idea.
and the only advice i can give to you guys is that let life flow, and it's okay to be scared for our future and not knowing what you want to do with your life, it just takes time and experiences, but for now just enjoy your life and just do you for once.

i hope this has helped you, and if you need any advice please don't hesitate to email me:

Travel Essentials!

Hello my loves, how have you been? hopefully good!
it's exactly four days till I go on holiday and it was only appropriate if I shared with you guys what my travel essentials are, so here it goes!

Number 1:
My first essential is the key to get out of this country and reach the sunny side of India, and that key happens to be my passport. (how exciting *joke*) (p.s it's not in the pic since mother has my passport...I can't be trusted with it)
Number 2:
My joint second is essential has to be my glasses and sunglasses, since I'm one of those people that can barely see, so I could get lost within the airport if I don't have my glasses, and I need my sunglasses to shield my eyes from the sun...or else it'll burn...(a very bad joke...someone stop me)
Number 3:
My third essential has to be a good book to read, since travelling sometimes can be boring, especially when you are waiting to board a flight, which is why this might be the perfect time to read that good book you've been dying to read however had no time. (this is the perfect opportunity)
Number 4:
My fourth essential has to be my fuji film Instax mini, since who doesn't like to capture amazing moments and to get physical cute polaroids instantly?!
Number 5:
My fifth essential has to be my camera, which I may use to vlog, but I'll definitely will use it to take pictures of beautiful places in India.
Number 6:
My joint sixth essential has to be my 17 small make up bag and my large Estee Lauder make up bag, which will contain my daily make up essentials.
Number 7:
My seventh essential has to be my Tablet, since I'm hoping to get work done over my holiday, since college life never ends...
Number 8:
lastly my essential will be my Ipod and earphones, since it's always nice to listen to music while reading.

And that pretty much covers my travel essentials, I hope all of you have a well and deserved summer, and try to do things you've been wanting to do, it could even be to catch up on your favourite TV show or to try and eat more healthier, what ever it is I hope you succeed!

Writing slump.

hello friends!

there's not much to say, but for me to say how I have been feeling for the past few weeks has been incredibly hard for me to get it into words, since writers like me can be demotivated to write sometimes, whether it could be you're busy with life or just feeling completely lazy (hate to admit it, but I fall into that category), here in this blog post of mine, I shall try my very own best to explain to you what I have been going through.
But before I start, I would like you to get a cup of tea (how British of me) or coffee if you prefer, and get comfy!

What is a writing slump?
Writing slump is when you are just not in the zone to write, which can be for many reasons here are a few common reasons and solutions for them:

Writing slump can sometimes be when you are sat on your bed with your laptop and trying to write something, and no matter how much you try it just doesn't sound right, this could be because you are not at all interested on what you are writing about or it could be because you are getting distracted by opening up other web browsers, or checking your social media.
it could be because you are just tired and you are caught up with your hectic work schedule, since for everyone writing can be something they do in their spare time, and unfortunately at some point in your life we become very busy, with school work or house work or just work in general, which could be the reason you're in a writing slump.
Another reason why you may be in a writing slump could be because you are pressuring yourself into writing, this won't help you at all when you are in writing slump, since you are already demotivated with writing and pressuring yourself will only push you into a deeper de-motivation for writing.
Lastly you may be in a writing slump, because you not letting yourself have breaks with writing, what I mean by this is, as aspiring writers we should take some time off of writing, this would help us to come up with fresh new ideas to write as well as recharge us mentally and physically.

as I have explained to you some common reasons of writing slump, it's only fair if I share some of my secrets on how to get out of them:

1) if you are not in the mood to write, then don't write, since forcing yourself to write is only going to make it impossible for you too write something you are proud off.
2) take breaks off writing, once in a while, this will help you come up with better ideas of what to write, as well as keep your writing more interesting.
3) if you are in a writing slump, occupy yourself by doing something fun, this will help you to be more positive in your mindful aspect of your life.
4) have a note book, where you'll be able to think of things you can write, and even draft write, which will make your writing life a lot more easier, trust me on that.
5) create a day or time on when you want to write, this would be good since you can find the perfect time to write on a hectic schedule, therefore you'll be able to balance your workload.
6) lastly, accept the fact you are in a writing slump, and that it's okay to be in one, no matter how long you are in one, it could be for few days or a week, or maybe even more than that, it's okay to be in one, since everyone goes through it once in a while.

I hope this blog post, helped my fellow writers out there, who are in a writing slump, and I hope my solutions will help you now or later on in the future.
happy writing my fellow friends.

Top 5 Books you should read

Hello friends!

how has your day been? hopefully good I hope, as you may or may not know I’m a book worm who quiet enjoys having a good book to read but sometimes you can pick up a book and never quiet finish it since you it becomes to repetitive and boring so in this new blog post I will give you top 5 books I think you will enjoy reading in your spare time.

1) Looking for Alaska by John Green:
John Green is known to have a wide audience that are mainly aimed at the younger generation, his style of writing is simple and based on genre of fiction. In looking for Alaska he uses various vocabulary but still makes sure the main point of the book is the subject focus. Mr Green writes in the point of view of Miles Halter through out the whole book, however John Green focuses on three characters in particular, one being Miles Halter who happens to be the guy whose seeking his great perhaps in his life and realises staying at home in Florida won’t give him a great perhaps, therefore he decides to join Culver Creek Boarding school, in order to get his great perhaps, John green describes Miles Halter to be a guy who has no clue on who he is and is trying to find himself through out the book, until he meets Alaska Young the girl whose a mystery to all, but has Miles Halters heart, and lastly The Colonel who happens to be the room mate of Miles Halter and his some his friend, even though they have a rough start they become stronger together later on the book.
this book and the characters are so intriguing it makes you want to read more of the book day by day until you finish it, its definitely a page turner, and if you’re into a mystery and a tragic love story then this book is for you.
favourite quote in this book:
” she loved mysteries so much that she became one.”
I like this quote so much because it described Alaska Young perfectly as a character in the book.

2) Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Rainbow Rowell’s style of writing is simple and enjoyable, she writes her characters in order for readers to relate with them, and each time you read the book you feel like you are the characters yourself. Fangirl was a very funny and heart warming book with Cath who just started her first year at college and happens to be a huge fangirl of simon & snow series and decides to create her very own fan fic, which is a huge success in the internet world, together cath and the readers meets new people in see her develop into being her own
favourite quote in this book:
“but there’s nothing more profound than creating something out of nothing”

3) Entangled by Cat Clarke-
Cat Clarke is definitely amazing creating a book that keeps you on edge by each end of the chapter, by wanting more and questioning yourself about what could happen to the main characters. this is a book that I have read two times, because its that amazing! if you want a book that’ll keep you hooked for the whole day this is certainly for you!
favourite quote in this book:
“that’s what I’m left with: just me. And that’s what scares me more than anything. Me.”

4) The perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chbosky-
this happens to be a successful motion picture to, which I also love, but i would recommend you to read the book first in order to understand the movie in depth, since the books are always 10 times more detailed than the actual movie, since movies are only 1 hour and 45 minutes long, which won’t be enough to portray everything that was in the book.
The book itself was great when it came to intertwining with the books title, since they are genuinely great perks of being a wall flower, which made many readers more able to understand the characters. This book is definitely perfect for a short summer read that gives you all the feels.
favourite quote from this book:
“we accept the love, we think we deserve”

5) Love & Misadventure by Lang Leav-
if you’re looking for a bit of light reading then this book is for you, this book is full of poems about love in general with few illustrations by Lang Leav herself, you’ll definitely enjoy this book of poems, this is perfect for light reading, since the poems are sweet and short.
favourite poem in this book:
Afraid to love.

I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post until next time, happy reading and writing my fellow friends!
