Writing slump.

hello friends!

there's not much to say, but for me to say how I have been feeling for the past few weeks has been incredibly hard for me to get it into words, since writers like me can be demotivated to write sometimes, whether it could be you're busy with life or just feeling completely lazy (hate to admit it, but I fall into that category), here in this blog post of mine, I shall try my very own best to explain to you what I have been going through.
But before I start, I would like you to get a cup of tea (how British of me) or coffee if you prefer, and get comfy!

What is a writing slump?
Writing slump is when you are just not in the zone to write, which can be for many reasons here are a few common reasons and solutions for them:

Writing slump can sometimes be when you are sat on your bed with your laptop and trying to write something, and no matter how much you try it just doesn't sound right, this could be because you are not at all interested on what you are writing about or it could be because you are getting distracted by opening up other web browsers, or checking your social media.
it could be because you are just tired and you are caught up with your hectic work schedule, since for everyone writing can be something they do in their spare time, and unfortunately at some point in your life we become very busy, with school work or house work or just work in general, which could be the reason you're in a writing slump.
Another reason why you may be in a writing slump could be because you are pressuring yourself into writing, this won't help you at all when you are in writing slump, since you are already demotivated with writing and pressuring yourself will only push you into a deeper de-motivation for writing.
Lastly you may be in a writing slump, because you not letting yourself have breaks with writing, what I mean by this is, as aspiring writers we should take some time off of writing, this would help us to come up with fresh new ideas to write as well as recharge us mentally and physically.

as I have explained to you some common reasons of writing slump, it's only fair if I share some of my secrets on how to get out of them:

1) if you are not in the mood to write, then don't write, since forcing yourself to write is only going to make it impossible for you too write something you are proud off.
2) take breaks off writing, once in a while, this will help you come up with better ideas of what to write, as well as keep your writing more interesting.
3) if you are in a writing slump, occupy yourself by doing something fun, this will help you to be more positive in your mindful aspect of your life.
4) have a note book, where you'll be able to think of things you can write, and even draft write, which will make your writing life a lot more easier, trust me on that.
5) create a day or time on when you want to write, this would be good since you can find the perfect time to write on a hectic schedule, therefore you'll be able to balance your workload.
6) lastly, accept the fact you are in a writing slump, and that it's okay to be in one, no matter how long you are in one, it could be for few days or a week, or maybe even more than that, it's okay to be in one, since everyone goes through it once in a while.

I hope this blog post, helped my fellow writers out there, who are in a writing slump, and I hope my solutions will help you now or later on in the future.
happy writing my fellow friends.

:)

Happy writing x
